Kirby Medical Center EMS Forging Our Future

Every May we celebrate Emergency Medical Services Week, this year the Kirby Medical EMS department was honored with a check for $4,000 to put towards ambulance services from the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Earthmover Credit Union.

The theme of this year's EMS Week was “Honoring Our Past, Forging Our Future”. Besides KMC, four other organizations were selected to receive emergency medical services grants.

These grants support firefighters, police and EMTs and the funds will be used to upgrade and improve specialized equipment and help with training.

KMC wants to extend its gratitude to the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Earthmover Credit Union and can not wait to forge ahead in emergency medical services.

Piatt County grant recipients are:

$24,000 - Piatt County Sheriff's Office

$4,000 - Kirby Ambulance Service

$2,000 - Bement Fire Protection District

$2,000 - Mid-Piatt Fire Protection District

$2,000 - Monticello Fire & Rescue
